Buses Will Take Boro Parkers to Downtown Brooklyn for Rezoning Hearing
YS Gold
As we have reported in the past, there is a battle raging for the character of Boro Park.
Developers from outside the community are endeavoring, for the first time, to rezone side residential streets, enabling them to build nine story structures there.
Following the massive turnout at the Community Board 12 meeting, which voted down the measure, a demonstration has been scheduled outside the office of the Borough President this Monday afternoon.
The public is asked to make their way to Borough Hall and make their voice heard, hopefully pushing back on the forces determined to rezone our entire communities.
Buses—free of charge—will depart Beis Medrash Mateh Ephraim (13th Avenue and 55th Street), which is close to the proposed rezoning site between 4:30-5:30 on Monday.
