CATSKILLS: Heavy Rain, Potentially Severe Weather to Descend on Area

The Catskills area is about to get hit with heavy rain, with potential thunderstorms later this afternoon. 

This comes after increasing humidity in the air, and a collision of warm and cold air, factors that will contribute to the rainfall.  

The rain comes on the heels of intense rainfall in the Jersey and Rockland County areas, which saw an incredible three inches of rain in one hour. 

While people should take precautions for potential flash flooding and downed tree limbs and utility wires, the rainfall will be welcome, as we have received less than usual amount of rain, and water reservoirs are at a critical shortfall.
