New York’s Gun Violence Continues to Massively Afflict the City

Over the last week, New York saw 76 people injured and 14 murdered through gun violence. According to police, this is two and a half times more shootings than the same period last year.  

The other week there were a total of 62 independent shootings; last year, there were 26. 

The total amount of shootings in 2020 is already higher than the total amount of shootings in 2019 with five months to go.
