Ostila Beis Medrash Collapses, Nearby Construction Site Blamed

The roof of the Ostila Beis Medrash, along with a sizable part of the wall, collapsed on Thursday morning. The Beis Medrash is located on 42nd Street near 11th Avenue. 

The collapse drew a major emergency response, and the area was cordoned off until it could be deemed safe. 

Sources close to the Shul tell BoroPark24 that the source of the collapse was likely a construction site adjacent to the shul. “We have called the city numerous times to complain about the shaking and rumbling coming from the construction site behind our shul, fearing that it was destabilizing our building—to no avail,” he said.
