Thousands of Belzer Chassidim Gather for Final Campaign to Complete Massive Talmud Torah Complex

It
was an evening of building and hope for the future of the Belzer chassidus in
America, as thousands filled what is soon to be Boro Park’s largest ballroom,
in the bowels of the soon-to-be-completed Talmud Torah building.
A
project that has taken years to complete, at a cost exceeding $60,000,000, this
state-of-the-art building will at long last bring together all the departments
of the boys Talmud Torah under one roof.
Although
meetings and campaigns have been held in the past, which have enabled the project
to reach this stage, this time, the gathering was held in the building itself,
which is so close to completion.
Headlining
the evening was the Ruv’s eldest grandson, Rav Shalom Rokeach, who—as he has
done in the past—left a deep impression on those gathered.
He
cited history from his ancestor and namesake, the Sar Shalom of Belz, who
famously built that iconic beis medrash in Belz. “He also went out time and
again, until the beis medrash was completed.”
He related the words of his grandfather, especially in honor of this event, who noted the generosity of those who participate in this project—and their soul connection to the holy Admorim of Belz throughout the generations.
