The New York State Police of Liberty and Wurtsboro are investigating a rash of car thefts over a few-day period in Sullivan County.

Thefts include a BMW reported stolen from Falls Road in Rock Hill on July 21. The car was later found abandoned at 12th Ave and West 134.

A Chevrolet Equinox was stolen from State Route 42 in Forestburgh on July 22. The car was found the following day abandoned on the same street.

Two days later, on July 24, a Toyota Highlander was stolen from Youngs Road in Roscoe. The car was found at 22 Colonel Ledyard Highway in Ledyard, Connecticut, and the driver was arrested.

On the same day, police were called to Picadilly Circle in Rock Hill after three cars were broken into. Credit cards and over $600.00 cash was stolen from inside the cars.

Residents are reminded to lock their vehicles and not to leave anything of value in the car.
