NYPD Busts Boro Park Store Selling Illegal Fireworks

YS Gold

Boro Park residents spent last Shabbos with the soundtrack of non-stop fireworks in the background, from Shabbos until Monday. These fireworks were presumably in celebration of the Chinese New Year, but many of them were illegally bought and used by individuals who used the opportunity for their illegal action.

On Sunday night a huge fire in a residence on 59th St and 11th Ave was caused by fireworks, as per neighbors living nearby, as we reported here.

On Wednesday, a vehicle erupted in flames in the area of New Utrecht Ave and 41st Street due to illegal fireworks that were being ignited in the area, as BoroPark24 reported here.

This afternoon, the NYPD busted a stand in the 8th Avenue area which was found to be selling illegal fireworks, many of which were used over the past week, and some arrest were made.
