Boro Park Debates: Speed Cameras

This week, 3 new speed cameras were installed in Boro Park. Speed cameras are one of the most hotly debated measures for traffic and speed control. They are devices that detect and record the speed of vehicles, which get followed by fines or penalties to drivers who exceed the legal limit.

From the other side, many people claim this just being another money income for the City, as most times safety isn't the concern, for example driving late at night with almost no one on the roads or streets, the 25 MPH is not understandable. Another claim that since not all roads have speed cameras, reckless drivers can simply avoid those roads that have speed cameras installed! Moreover, they can create other problems, such as sudden braking or acceleration.
